Now that the NAMM show in Anaheim, California has started, this year is going to be an exceptional one for aficionados of real analogue (monophonic) synthesizers. Please find here an excerpt of interesting new products, starting with Arturia´s (well-known for their excellent software emulations) first analogue synthesizer ever, ending with the Moog Minitaur, based on the legendary Taurus-Bass-Pedals (I and III). ABLETON LIVE ALTERNATIVE?

Ableton Live, the world leading software for electronic live performances could soon encounter strong competition. The functions of the Betatest-Software “Bitwig Studio” seem pretty similar to “Live” and also the graphical interface, particularly the effect section strongly resembles the Ableton GUI. This could be due to the fact that some former Ableton programmers are involved in this project. Nonetheless, some very interesting features are new, e.g. the Metadata based Browser that facilitates the exchange for various users working on one track as well as the multiplied Audio events editing.

Sounds promising so far..!
